Exciting News! Our very first WordPress (WP) plugin, "Summary Box for Wikipedia Links," has successfully passed the review process on its very first try. You can now find it in the official WordPress plugin directory (wordpress.com).
Here we demonstrate the feature with the world's longest place name, 85 characters long:

There are thousands of WordPress plugins and even Wikimedia did a plugin Wikipedia Preview (wordpress.org) with a similar function but it works only for WordPress pages.
Now, you might be wondering, what makes our plugin so special? Well, firstly, in 12/2021 we developed a version that works seamlessly on all kinds of websites, including WordPress sites. This was significant because, at that time, no such library existed. We recognized the value of this Wikipedia-inspired feature, which could benefit both website owners and visitors.
It's particularly useful for projects like "The Horse Project" and the student project site dontwastemy.energy. Both authors and visitors appreciate the feature for its user-friendliness, which helps in disseminating knowledge and encourages authors to explain technical terms.
The approach of our library is both reduced and elegant. As far as we know, there is nothing comparable that operates so simply across all types of websites. We were curious about creating a WordPress plugin, so we decided to package our library into one during an update
Finally: For an impressive and user-friendly addition to your website or web application, visit our projects page. Discover how you can quickly integrate this feature - in minutes, if not seconds!
One last thing: We've observed that this feature is very useful on our websites, and we're glad to share it. But as long as "nobody" knows about it, it's only worth "an apple and an egg". However, spreading the word is another (time-consuming) task. Let's move on to the next big thing! :-)
